As the cold and flu season progresses, please keep in mind the 24 Hour Rule.  Any time your child has:

● had a fever 100.0 or higher
● has been put on antibiotics for any infection
● has pinkeye
● has been vomiting
● or just not getting better after being home sick

PrescottSchool District policy is: Students need to be fever free (99.9 or lower) without fever reducing medications for 24 hours or more before returning to school - Students need to be able to keep food and liquids down without vomiting for 24 hours or more before returning to school. - Students need to stay home for 24 hours after the medications such as eye drops or antibiotics are started.

WHY? When students and staff stay home when they are sick it helps prevent the spread of illness to other students, staff and the community.

REMEMBER: Washing hands when soiled with lathering and good friction for at least 20 seconds and proper covering coughs and sneezes are the leading ways to prevent the spread of illness.
