2019-2020 School Year Calendar (approved February 20, 2019)

DETAILS: On Wednesday, February 20th, the Prescott School Board approved the following 2018-19 calendar modifications to make up for 5.25 days of lost instructional time due to weather related school closings.

ADDED SCHOOL DAYS: March 22, April 22, and May 13 are now full duty days with student contact and instruction.

ADJUSTED END OF SCHOOL DAY TIME: (EXCEPT WEDNESDAYS):  In addition, beginning March 11 (the Monday after spring break), school days will be extended to provide additional instruction for the remainder of the school year. This will apply every day, except Wednesday, until the end of the school year:
  • Elementary, Intermediate, and Middle Schools – extended by 5 minutes
  • High School – extended by 10 minutes
END OF DAY BUS TIME PICK-UP times for in-town routes will be impacted accordingly:
  • Malone Intermediate in-town student pick-up will shift from 2:55 pm to 3:00 pm
  • Malone Elementary in-town student pick-up will shift from 3:00 pm to 3:05 pm
Student after school delivery times will be moved back by five minutes. All other routes (including St. Joe’s and country routes) will be impacted as follows:
  • Malone Elementary pick-up will shift to 3:15 pm
  • Middle School will shift from 3:15 pm to 3:20 pm
  • St. Joseph will shift from 3:15 to 3:20 pm
  • High School will shift to 3:25 pm
  • All buses will leave from the Intermediate School at 3:30 pm.
End of day delivery times will be 10-minutes later.

There remains the potential for more extreme winter weather in the weeks ahead. It is our hope that building additional instructional time into each day for the remainder of the school district will help avoid the need to make time if there is a future school closing.  In the event of additional school closings, the school board designated specific calendar days to open school if needed. If it is necessary to implement those days, the district will provide additional communication.

March 22 Parent/Teacher Conferences for K-12 grade will be delivered in new format.  Parents will receive information directly from their schools.
