Kiwanis Student of the Week
February 11, 2010 - Amber Cahill
"Amber Cahill is a diligent worker who is willing to both ask questions and contribute her ideas in class, " states Mr. Kosmalski, Physical Science teacher. "She always brings a positive attitude and a smile to class." The daughter of Michael and Michelle Cahill, Amber enjoys snowboarding and is involved in the High School Volunteer Group, Volleyball, Forensics, the Marching Band, and the Drum Line. An honor roll student, Amber desires to attend the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse to pursue a career in the medical field.
February 4, 2010 - Maddeline Smith
"Maddeline Smith has don an exceptional job in AP US History and Native America Since 1790." Mr. Ryan goes on to say, "She was one of six students to testify at the State Capitol for Senate Bill 25, a bill designed to eliminate the use of race-based mascots in public schools." The daughter of Michelle Caligan and Michael Smith, Maddie is a member of the Yearbook staff and enjoys shopping, babysitting, drawing, and taking pictures. An honor roll student, Maddie is enrolled in the Actuarial Science program at Southeast Technical College in Winona; however, after her trip to the State Capitol in Madison, she is interested in the lawmaking process.
