Prescott Community Recreation (PCR) has implemented the following Code of Conduct. All Players, Parents (or legal guardians), and Coaches must read, understand and sign this form prior to the player’s or coach’s participation.
By signing this form, the player, parent, or coach provides their consent that anyone who violates the Code of Conduct may be subject to disciplinary action by their team’s coach, or by PCR. This disciplinary action may include a temporary suspension from the program or the forfeiture of the privilege to participate in the program for the season for either the player or coach.
Player Code of Conduct
- I will show respect to all coaches, game officials, parents, teammates and opposing players at all times, and will never act in a manner that is disrespectful to them or my team.
- I will demonstrate good sportsmanship regardless of the score or situation by acting in a positive manner towards coaches, officials and other players.
- I will make a full commitment to be present at, and prepared for, all practices, games, tournaments, and other events.
- I will notify the coaches of scheduling conflicts and absences due to sickness, illness or injury as soon as possible.
- I will display commitment to my team and coaches at all times.
- I will shake hands with the other team after every game.
Parent (or Legal Guardian) Code of Conduct
- I (and my guests) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage good sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, by demonstrating positive support for players, coaches, officials, and spectators at every game or practice.
- I (and my guests) will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent such as booing, taunting, refusing to shake hands, using profane language or gestures.
- I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that endanger the health and well-being of athletes.
- I will ensure that my child treats other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect at all times regardless of race, creed, color, sex or athletic ability.
- I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participants for making a mistake.
- I will respect the officials and coaches for their authority during games and practices; I will never question, discuss, or confront coaches at the gymnasium, but will take time to speak with coaches at an agreed-upon time and place and in a professional manner.
- I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games or practices from the sidelines.
- I will provide for the timely drop-off and pick-up of my child at practices, games, etc.
Coach Code of Conduct
- I will be a positive role model for the players on the team and encourage good sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, officials, and spectators at every game or practice.
- I will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, player, or parent such as booing, taunting, refusing to shake hands, using profane language or gestures, or harassing statements.
- I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well-being of athletes.
- I will ensure my team treats other players, coaches, and officials with respect at all times regardless of race, creed, color, sex or athletic ability.
- I will never ridicule or yell at my team or other participants for making a mistake.
- I will respect the officials for their authority during games and practices; if I question a call or procedure, I agree to approach the officiating staff in a professional manner.
- I will treat all players on my team equally and fairly at practice and during games.
