Rural Transportation
Students to be transported who live outside the city limits will be expected to walk reasonable distances to bus stops in order to enhance efficient transportation. Reasonable distances are considered to be .5 of a mile for grades K-5 and .7 of a mile for grades 6-12.
Drivers will not enter private drives unless there are safety or medical concerns. The district will continue to provide bus service via private roads grandfathering for one school year (2007-08) those families that received services during the 2006-07 school year. Student pickup and drop off points in housing developments will be in clustered areas as designated by the Director of Transportation.
Transportation Within City Limits
The walking distance will not be in excess of four blocks.
Transportation of Students with Exceptional Educational Needs (EEN)
Will be according to the student’s individual education plan (IEP).
