Welcome back! I am truly honored to serve as the new leader of the Cardinals. Prescott School District has a strong reputation for dedicated staff, supportive families, and a shared commitment to helping students reach their full potential. We consistently rank in the top 10% statewide, thanks to our comprehensive approach to education that balances Academics, Arts, and Athletics.
I grew up in Antigo, Wisconsin—a small town where the school district was the heart of the community. I’ve been looking for a district where I can build those same, strong relationships with families, businesses, and local leaders. Prescott is exactly that kind of place.
This year marks my 32nd year in education. I spent 20 years teaching high school math and science, while coaching football and serving as lead negotiator for the Janesville Education Association. For the past 11 years, I’ve served in school leadership roles: superintendent, principal, and curriculum and instruction coordinator in New Auburn. I’ve had the privilege of working with students and staff across all grade levels and have a deep passion for mental health, social-emotional learning, literacy, and college/career readiness.
Prescott’s focus on Building Thinking Classrooms makes us a leader in improving student learning. Its focus on collaboration, problem-solving, and “real world” tasks
empowers students to become independent learners and
leaders. For the next 3-5 years, we will continue to concentrate on Building Thinking Classrooms, as well as focus on literacy (including ACT 20), mathematics, and social-emotional learning.
What makes a school district great? Research is clear: the single most important factor is a skilled, supported, and empowered staff. We will strive to serve our teachers so they can focus on serving our students. From bus drivers to custodians, food service workers to administrators, every team member contributes with a servant’s heart.
Cardinal Pride runs deep in this community. We can’t wait to welcome our students back and to see them filling the halls with laughter, curiosity, energy, and excitement. Together, we’ll continue to create a place where every child can explore, grow, and thrive.
Go Cardinals!
