If you are moving during the school year, we encourage you to come to the school to register your child as soon as possible, even before you move if that is feasible. We realize that adjustment to a new school during the school year is difficult, but the less your child's school year is disrupted by absence, the better.
Registration Requirements
Age: Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before September 1st. A copy of the child's proof of age must be supplied at the time of enrollment.
Immunization: All students in grades K-12 must provide an immunization record at the time of enrollment
Custody: If any person other than a natural parent has custody of a child, proof of legal custody or guardianship must be provided before the child may be enrolled in a Prescott public school.
When to Register
Our school office is open from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM each school day. You may come and register your child at any time during those hours or you may contact our office at 715-262-5463. Many of the required documents will be obtained from the previous school.
Moving to the Area During the Summer
We strongly encourage you to come by the school at your earliest convenience to register your child. We are out of the office for the month of July and return the first full week of August. Office hour are 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, Monday-Friday. We would love an opportunity to meet you and your children to get them registered at Malone Elementary.
Getting your child registered early will allow us to obtain their records from the previous school, giving us important information needed to make an effective class placement for your children. It will also ensure that your children's teachers will be ready to welcome them at our orientation day held on the first day of school.
