What is STEM?
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education is an integrated, interdisciplinary approach to learning that provides students with hands-on and relevant learning experiences. STEM authentically engages students and equips them with critical thinking, problem-solving, creative, artistic, and collaborative skills, ultimately establishing connections between the school, workplace, community, and the global economy.

Prescott STEM VISION
Students K-12 experience hands-on, inquiry-based units of learning that are incorporated into the cross-disciplinary curriculum through:
- Students K-12 creating products that investigate or solve real-world problems
- Students and parents are aware of the benefits of all post-secondary options and how current high school offerings fit into those pathways
- Articulated STEM problem-solving program K-12 (Math Masters, Destination Imagination, Girls Who Code)
- Fabrication Lab/Maker Space/Innovation Area at the elementary, intermediate, and middle school level that exposes students to opportunities at the high school level
- STEM programs and opportunities are enhanced through outside funding opportunities
- Students at each level have multiple extracurricular STEM opportunities to enrich their classroom experiences
Prescott STEM Programming
All Prescott School District students have regular STEM programming from K through eighth grade, with elective opportunities at the high school level. The elementary and intermediate levels have an emphasis on environmental STEM, while the middle school focuses on coding and mechanical STEM programming
