GET INFORMED - SPREAD THE WORD
The Wisconsin Legislature will reconvene on July 1, 2025 to determine the 2025-2027 biennial budget. Now is the time to learn about the primary funding issues public schools in Wisconsin face and which funding issues need to be addressed.
PRIORITIES FOR PRESCOTT SCHOOL
Special Education Funding that is Fund Sufficient at 60%
Per-pupil funding reconnected to the rate of inflation
Early Literacy - $5 million was earmarked for early literacy programs and training, but was never released to school districts.
Mental Health - Reinstate MH funds to smaller school districts that were affected when due to per-pupil funding. Reinstate the Food Service Grant to farmers in order for them to partner with our school lunch program.

It’s up to community members to speak up for the burden placed on them. WASBO Research Director Ann Chapman states, “Referendums were designed to be a rarely-used mechanism - not to pick up the pieces of a broken state school funding system.” You can voice your concerns by contacting your local officials listed below.
